12. Tapioca Lounge Logo

Title: Tapioca Lounge Logo
Year: 2009
Dimensions: 6 ft x 6 ft

This is logo I made for a smoothie shop in mid 2009. I had the chance for this job opportunity - they wanted to have a logo that was family friendly. Something that was colorful or would attract children's eyes. I sketched designs and ideas for a day then finalized this on photoshop the next day. It was successful made into a 6ft by 6ft logo on the shopping center.

This banner is advertising a guild, Celestial Beginnings, on the online game Neopets. I placed a background on the upper image so the full effects of the banner could be seen. The banner on the bottom is transparent like how it was presented on the site. The artwork is courtesy of the Neopets Co.

9. The Study of Figure

Title: The Study of Figure
Year: Summer 2008
Dimensions: 17 in x 24 in
Medium: Charcoal

This piece was a quick draw from my Parsons Summer Intensive Studies course for Drawing and Painting. We were learning how to shade and highlight the shapes/figures/proportions of different shaped bodies.

8. Mr. Love

Title: Mr. Love
Year: Late 2009
Dimensions: 14 in x 16 in
Medium: Pencil and Ebony
Mr. Love is an amazing and also the oldest substitute at my school. When we were given the assignment to draw intimate behavior, I knew that Mr. Love would be the greatest subject because of his age and because he brings so much to his students - I wanted to give something back. I incorporated all the detail I could into this piece to give it almost a photographic feel. Instead of color, I chose black and white because these colors are clean and simple. It's honest and shows the true person.

7. Discarded

Title: Discarded
Year: 2009
Dimensions: 16 in x 21 in
Medium: Prismacolor Pencils
Everything on this planet has a special quality that makes it stand out - whether if it's decaying or just plain beautiful. "Discarded" was discovered by me when I saw a pile of pipes pushed against a wall. On the pipes or between them were dust, trash, dirt, corrosion - the mix was interestingly beautiful.

6. Within the Walls

Title: Within the Walls
Year: 2010
Dimensions: 3456 x 2304
Medium: Photography

Winter completely froze the fountain outside my house until the warm weather came and started melting the icicles. The yellow and blue on the icicles mirrors the sun and the sky; and as you take a closer look at the fountain, past the walls of ice, you'll see that spring has come.

5. Color-Full World

Title: Color-Full World
Year: Summer 2009
Dimensions: 20 in x 16 in
Medium: Acrylic Paint
"Go outside and draw/paint what you see" was the prompt - but often times I see more than just what's before me. My world is colorful, energetic, and fun; as everyone else's would be if they stop and take a look around. Usually, my horizon lines wouldn't be in the center but I wanted catch an equal amount of reflection of the sky in the lake.

4. Dead Man's Curse

Year: Early 2009
Dimensions: 6 in x 8.5 in
Medium: Pen and Ink
Because we were still in Art II, a learning stage, my art teacher always given my class strict assignments/instructions to follow with little room for creativity. This piece was the result of my art teacher finally allowing us to let our crativity run free instad of having a strict and structured assignment. It received an Award of Excellence from Humble I.S.D/Lone Star College at the Fine Arts Festival.

3. La Vie en Rose

Title: La Vie en Rose
Year: Late 2009
Dimensions: 16 in x 11.5 in
Medium: Acrylic paint
"La Vie en Rose" means "Life through Rose-colored Glasses", and literally "Life in Pink" - that is how life becomes when you're in love. You shouldn't run away from love but face it with courage - which is why my painting of this rose is directed to the center of the rose.

2. Every Daybreak

Title: Every Daybreak
Year: 2010
Dimensions: 16 in x 15 in
Medium: Pencil and Ebony

My first thought when taking this photo was how regal and proud the rooster looked. He had the sharp and royal features I wanted to transfer to my piece. This was my submission for my first Rodeo Art Contest in 2010 - it was a Finalist and received a rainbow ribbon.

1. Art for Thought

Title: Art for Thought
Year: 2010
Dimensions: 506 x 728 pixels
Medium: Digital Art

Imagination feeds into art. To me, there is no end to the possibilites you can make with your imagination. Therefore, if art is the food for thought - it is endless. Even though I only have a 2 year background of art, I'm already there mentally. Photo of brain is courtesy of Nick Meek.
